Inviting Family Compound

CHERRY HILLS, DENVER

With a large extended family spanning multiple generations, these repeat clients sought to transform their newest home into a sprawling family compound. From a generously sized pool and shaded lounging areas to a design that could be enjoyed both day and night, they wanted the backyard to transition effortlessly from a quiet morning swim to a lavish holiday party.

To balance this desire for both day-to-day intimacy and memorable entertaining, we developed a design with multiple “rooms” surrounding the pool, each with a flexible seating layout that can scale up or down. Custom shade structures and pergolas also helped bring structure to these outdoor spaces, offering varying levels of protection throughout the seasons of the year. The final design feels both homey and lavish, adapting to the activities and agenda of the day.
