Set against dramatic sandstone rock formations, this property called for a landscaping vision that echoed and enhanced the natural landscape. The homeowners wanted to ensure a connection with Colorado’s rugged beauty, while developing a generous patio featuring an outdoor kitchen, firepit and plenty of shaded seating areas. The site’s natural topography provided both aesthetic inspiration and significant constraints, as we sought to execute a structurally sound design that flowed beautifully into the surrounding environment.

Our choice of materials was central to this project, sourcing natural stone and regionally appropriate plantings that harmoniously blend with the property’s existing palette. The design also prioritized curving, organic layouts and subtle uplighting to enhance the ambiance of the space in the evenings. Given the dry climate, a drip-irrigation system was also installed to support the year-round resilience of shrubs, evergreens and ornamental plantings. The finished design blends seamlessly into the gorgeous background, a stylish and rustic complement to Colorado’s wild beauty.
